Reza atau Ajer adalah salah satu teman baik saya semasa kuliah di Universitas Indonesia, kami mengambil fakultas dan jurusan yang sama. Setelah lulus dari UI kami sempat bekerja di kantor yang sama dan setelahnya kami juga sempat membuat sebuah rumah produksi kami sendiri yang sekarang dijalankan oleh Ajer dan satu teman lainnya yaitu Joko.
Reza or Ajer is one of my good friend from school in University of Indonesia, we went in the same faculty and major. After graduated we went to the same office and we also made our own small production house that is now managed by Ajer himself and one other friend named Joko.
Tahun 2013, Ajer berniat akan menikah dengan seorang gadis bernama Rini, Saya katakan kepadanya bahwa saya ingin membuatkan foto pra nikah untuk mereka dan saya ingin melakukannya di bawah air, di kolam; mereka pun menyetujuinya.
In 2013, Ajer was getting married to a girl named Rini, I told him that I wanted to take their pre wedding photos and I wanted to do it underwater, in the pool and they agreed so we did it.
Rini meminta ijin kepada temannya yang mempunyai rumah dengan sebuah kolam kecil supaya kami dapat melakukan sesi foto di kolamnya, temannya pun memperbolehkan. Kami juga mendapat bantuan dari beberapa teman baik lainnya yang membantu kami memegang kain tambahan dan membuat foto belakang layar.
Rini asked her friend who owned a house with a small pool inside it and he agreed to let us do the photo session in his pool. We also had some other friends helping us with the extra fabrics and behind the scenes photos. Fun session with the help of good friends.

Taking underwater photographs is fun, I like doing it. A lot more things to manage while taking underwater photos such as waterproof make up, choosing the right wardrobes, lighting and flash setups, and the most important to me is making the subject(s) to be as comfortable as they can while posing underwater.

For some people, swimming and being underwater is a new thing or maybe even scary for them. That's why before every underwater photo job, I asked the subject(s) are they familiar with the underwater world? If they are it will make the job easier, and if they aren't I should pay more attention and give them extra treatment before D-day. Usually I will ask them to go swimming in the pool weeks before D-day, sometimes I will also join them just to make sure they're comfortable and ready for the photo session. I need to see their face and how they can manage being underwater and posing at the same time.
If you're going to use scuba diving gear, make sure all of your dive gear are well prepared, re-check and double check even if you're only taking photos in shallow pool because malfunction could waste your time if you have to re-assemble your dive gear again.
If you need additional non underwater lighting, make sure all the electricity source, cables, etc are in the safe place and make sure to put the lights in a water free area. You don't wanna be electrocuted while taking photos underwater.

Remember, working underwater can make you and your clients very cold. Always remember to ask them whether they have hypothermia and provide hot tea, snacks, and bath robe if its necessary.

Foto-foto seperti ini dapat dilakukan di kolam renang ataupun di laut namun jelas mengambil foto di laut akan lebih sulit dan berpotensi bahaya karena alam yang tidak bisa dikontrol. Foto bawah air di laut tetap dapat dilakukan dengan catatan didampingi oleh para profesional di bidangnya masing-masing.
Sementara foto bawah air di kolam renang dapat mengurangi beberapa faktor yang dapat berpotensi bahaya namun dalam prosesnya tetap harus direncanakan dengan baik dan didampingi profesional di bidangnya masing-masing.
Baik dilakukan dengan teknik freediving ataupun scuba, masing-masing punya kelebihan dan kekurangannya masing-masing dan untuk menghindari kecelakaan sebaiknya lakukan dengan orang yang paham betul tentang ini.
Kami telah mulai masuk dunia foto dan video bawah air sejak 2010 dan kami memiliki kolega-kolega yang paham dan bekerja profesional di dunia bawah air sehingga kami selalu membuat standar yang aman dalam membuat foto dan video bawah air.
